Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you offer Childrens' Church?

    Yes, on the first and third Sunday of each month. Children will depart from sanctuary around 10:45 am.

  • Do you offer Sunday School classes?

    Yes, we provide Sunday School classes beginning at 9:30 am for all ages: Nursery (Birth-3 yrs old), Preschool (3 yrs-Kindergarten), Grades 1-3, Grades 4-5, Youth (6th-12th grade), Young Adults, Couples, Ladies Classes, Men’s Classroom, Open Sanctuary Class.  We use the following literature: Bible Studies for Life/Explore the Bible (LifeWay) and Answers in Genesis.

  • What if I have listening needs?

    Assistive listening devices are available for the hearing impaired.  We have two kinds: ear speakers and neck loops. The ushers/greeters will direct you to the audio person for help.

  • Should I silence my cell phone?

    Yes, we ask that everyone silence all mobile devices before entering the service so as to create a safe and focused worship space for everyone.

  • What do I wear?

    No matter what your personal style is, we want you to feel comfortable at Grace Baptist Church. If you prefer dressy, business, or semi-casual attire, chances are there will be others dressed like you.

  • Where do my young children go?

    Our well-equipped and staffed nursery is available to care for ages Birth - 3 years. Parents are asked to check in and leave their names & cell number. This allows them to be discreetly reached if necessary. All nursery workers are required to have a background check.  One of our ushers/greeters would be happy to show you to the nursery.

  • Will I have an opportunity to meet the Pastor?

    Yes, one of our Pastors would love to meet you!  If you would like a more in-depth visit with the Pastors, please call the Church office at (828) 433-1508 or email us to set up a time for a visit or phone call.

How to Join

Is God calling you to membership in our church? We welcome all persons who trust in God’s grace in Jesus Christ and desire to become part of the fellowship and ministry of His Church.


You are invited to speak to the Pastor if you are interested in becoming a church member. A new member’s class is typically held a couple of times each year. This informal meeting reviews the history of Grace Baptist Church, summarizes our missional approach to ministry, and goes over the responsibilities of membership.


Persons enter into active membership in one of the following ways:

  1. Profession of faith and baptism (if not previously baptized)
  2. Letter of transfer from another Church
  3. Reaffirmation/Statement of faith (for persons who have profession and baptism in their background)
